Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor on infrastructure projects including road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and park development
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, compactors) and hand tools safely
- Assist in stormwater management, erosion control, and vegetation control
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
- Document work progress and material usage in digital reporting systems
- Respond to emergency public works calls during weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Experience with GIS mapping or digital reporting preferred
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Ability to work independently while following city protocols
