Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, tampers, power saws) following safety protocols
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and project specifications
- Maintain clean and organized job sites while adhering to OSHA standards
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to supervisors
- Support emergency response during weather-related infrastructure events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 6 months construction/maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Successful background check and pre-employment physical
