Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for construction and maintenance projects including excavation, grading, and paving
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) under supervision
- Maintain public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Assist in traffic control and safety protocol enforcement during operations
- Load/unload materials and equipment at job sites
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic repairs
- Document work progress and maintain clean job sites
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction equipment
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, humidity, rain)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Experience with public works or construction preferred
