Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and landscaping for city infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment like jackhammers, saws, and trenchers under supervision
- Assist in traffic control and safety setup for work zones
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities
- Collaborate with crew leads to execute project plans efficiently
- Maintain clean and safe work environments following OSHA standards
- Document work progress and material usage accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification a plus
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
