Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, power tools) safely and efficiently
- Assist in street maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Load/unload materials and maintain organized job sites
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works labor experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to follow written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors
