Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for road maintenance and construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt repair
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on city infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for emergency response during severe weather
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain equipment cleanliness
- Document daily progress and material usage in digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/maintenance experience
- Valid Missouri Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
