Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and public parks
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and dump trucks
- Respond to emergency weather-related incidents (snow removal, flooding)
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Document work activities and material usage accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
- 2+ years of construction or public works experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Must reside within Chicago city limits
