Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and trenching for infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery safely
- Assist in roadway repair, pothole patching, and traffic control setup
- Execute park maintenance tasks including landscaping, irrigation repair, and facility upkeep
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in emergency response efforts during severe weather events
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
