Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including digging, paving, and infrastructure repairs
- Operate and maintain city vehicles, machinery, and hand tools safely
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system upkeep, and park facility projects
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Participate in emergency response for natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Complete daily work orders with accurate documentation and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Resilience working in tropical weather conditions
