Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, bulldozers, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and utility installation
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist in emergency response during weather events
- Complete daily work logs and progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Louisiana Class D driver's license
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic equipment operation skills (backhoe, dump truck)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Resident of East Baton Rouge Parish
