Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power saws, dump trucks) under supervision
- Inspect and maintain city sidewalks, roads, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Document work activities and report equipment maintenance needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred (e.g., equipment operation fundamentals)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
- 1+ years construction or public works experience preferred
