Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks under supervision
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, trenching, backfilling, and debris removal
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and snow removal operations
- Conduct site inspections and report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Complete daily equipment maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety protocols
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain Alaska Flagger Certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays during emergencies
- Strong teamwork ethic and reliable punctuality
