Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, drainage clearing, and sidewalk upkeep
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, and compactors) safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events (e.g., storm debris removal)
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate work logs and safety documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale public projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Georgia Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
