Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, rollers) with proper certification
- Install and maintain traffic control systems during roadwork
- Assist in storm drain maintenance and water quality improvement projects
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Maryland Class C Driver's License
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/public works
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Strong work ethic in all weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
