Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties including paving, patching, and repairing public roads and sidewalks.
- Operate and maintain light to medium construction equipment such as dump trucks, rollers, and skid steers.
- Assist with traffic control, flagging, and signage placement during maintenance projects.
- Participate in snow and ice removal operations to ensure public safety during winter months.
- Maintain parks, greenways, and right-of-way areas through mowing, trimming, and litter removal.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and supplies at job sites.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices is highly preferred.
- Willingness to undergo a drug screen and background check.
