Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, and backhoes under supervision.
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging ditches, laying pipe, and clearing debris from streets and drainage areas.
- Maintain and clean work sites to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging duties during road construction projects.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and departmental protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of heavy machinery or equipment operation is a plus.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
