Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor for construction, repair, and maintenance of public infrastructure
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and equipment handling procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on road, drainage, and park projects
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Support emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years construction or public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
