Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided equipment (excavators, graders, trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, asphalt patching, and vegetation control
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city environmental standards
- Assist in emergency response during weather-related incidents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Document daily activities and material usage in digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and heavy machinery operation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends/emergencies
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
