Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery for excavation, grading, and material transport
- Perform manual labor tasks including trenching, pipe installation, and surface repair
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and report maintenance needs
- Assist in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to safely operate heavy machinery (training provided)
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
