Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Assist in road repair, drainage system maintenance, and public facility upkeep
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with crew supervisors to meet project deadlines
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly
- Experience with heavy equipment operation preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
