Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, graders, forklifts) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Assist in repairing and maintaining public facilities (roads, sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Document daily activities and project progress
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Oregon driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions (rain, heat, cold)
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- 1+ years construction or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification a plus
