Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor for road repairs, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Assist in construction and installation of public infrastructure projects
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines and deliverables
- Document daily activities and project progress in field reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
