Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public infrastructure
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Assist in stormwater management and drainage system upkeep
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document daily operations and equipment usage logs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (CDL preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain
- Minimum 1 year equipment operation experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
