Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, dump trucks, etc.) for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt patching
- Maintain roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems using provided tools
- Assist in emergency storm response with city-issued equipment
- Follow strict safety protocols while operating municipal vehicles
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
- Collaborate with crews on public infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with proper training
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
