Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided machinery for road maintenance, drainage systems, and park infrastructure
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols while working with provided equipment
- Assist in emergency storm response and flood control operations
- Maintain accurate field reports and equipment usage logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews for project completion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation training
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Commitment to public service and community pride
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and safety procedures
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (provided by city)
