Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery including excavators, dump trucks, and asphalt rollers
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and storm drain maintenance projects
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure project timelines are met
- Document work activities and material usage in digital logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Previous construction or public works experience a plus
