Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, and parks
- Assist in construction, repair, and maintenance of public facilities
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Conduct site inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and basic troubleshooting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical activity
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions
