Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Assist in public works infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, utilities)
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines
- Document work progress and equipment usage logs
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic equipment operation skills or willingness to train
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean background check and drug screening required
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
