Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, grading, and debris removal
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and drainage system maintenance
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city maintenance standards
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects efficiently
- Document work progress and submit daily activity reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to operate machinery
- Strong commitment to workplace safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (training provided)
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
