Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure construction and repairs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage systems, and park facility upkeep
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with crews to complete projects on schedule
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with proper certification
- Physical stamina to perform tasks in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined spaces
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and techniques
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent required
