Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, lifting, and material handling
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Assist in road repair, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document daily activities and material usage in digital systems
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (required)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (training provided)
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varied weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- 1+ years of construction or public works experience preferred
