Responsibilities
- Operate Provided Equipment: Safely operate light to medium construction equipment, including backhoes, bulldozers, and dump trucks, as directed by supervisors.
- Site Preparation: Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, trenching, and compaction of soil.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, tools, and debris; ensure proper storage and organization on-site.
- Maintenance & Cleanup: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; perform routine equipment maintenance checks and report issues.
- Traffic Control: Assist in setting up and monitoring traffic control devices, flagging operations, and ensuring public safety.
- Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety standards, company policies, and project specifications at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensing: Valid Class C California Driver’s License required; ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Basic understanding of construction safety and equipment operation.
