Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling using city-provided equipment
- Operate machinery like backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park infrastructure projects
- Conduct site inspections and document work progress using digital tools
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized work zones
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on multi-phase municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/maintenance experience
- Valid Florida Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided)
- Basic equipment operation skills (training available for all machinery)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
