Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (backhoes, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and landscape installation
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and storm drain clearing
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Residency in St. Petersburg or surrounding Pinellas County preferred
