Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities and roads
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and report hazards immediately
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines and deliverables
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Flexible availability including weekends/evenings as needed
