Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, sidewalk construction, and park upkeep
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) safely and efficiently
- Assist in traffic control and safety zone setup during public works projects
- Collect and dispose of debris, hazardous materials, and waste per environmental regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment operation
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Experience in public works, landscaping, or construction preferred
