Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, debris removal, and road maintenance
- Operate light machinery (saws, jackhammers, sweepers) with proper training
- Assist in park beautification, landscaping, and public space upkeep
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment inspection reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays as needed
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Residency in Detroit or Wayne County preferred
- Willingness to obtain CDL certification within 6 months of hire
