Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, pressure washers) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater management, drainage system maintenance, and environmental remediation
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public facilities and utilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and city safety guidelines at all times
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction or maintenance preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in construction, landscaping, or public works labor
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in extreme weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power equipment, and construction materials
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
