Responsibilities
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain heavy machinery, including loaders, graders, and excavators.
- Road Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and traffic control devices.
- Snow and Ice Control: Execute timely snow removal and ice treatment operations during inclement weather.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and site protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools using trucks or manual labor.
- Community Interaction: Assist in public projects and interact professionally with residents and other city employees.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in general labor, construction, or public works is preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid Washington State Class B Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to read technical blueprints or maps.
