Responsibilities
- Perform heavy equipment operation (backhoes, loaders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Execute road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and snow removal operations
- Conduct utility line locating and excavation support for underground projects
- Maintain construction sites through material handling, grading, and erosion control
- Operate hand/power tools for concrete work, asphalt patching, and landscape restoration
- Adhere to OSHA/Madison safety protocols during all field activities
- Complete daily equipment inspection and preventative maintenance logs
Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent with math proficiency
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
