Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including sweeping streets, cleaning catch basins, and maintaining public parks and greenways.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Operate and maintain light to medium-duty equipment and hand tools (e.g., brooms, shovels, jackhammers, dump trucks).
- Repair and maintain sidewalks, curbs, and roadways according to city specifications.
- Load and unload materials, debris, and equipment at various job sites.
- Follow safety protocols and traffic control procedures while working near public roads.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow crew members to ensure project completion.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Valid Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor for extended periods (walking, lifting, bending, pushing).
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to pass a post-offer medical examination and background check.
- Basic knowledge of construction or public works procedures is a plus but not required.
