Responsibilities
- Maintain Public Infrastructure: Clean streets, sidewalks, and public facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents.
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely drive and operate machinery such as backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and street sweepers.
- Perform Manual Labor: Assist in construction projects, including excavation, grading, asphalt paving, and concrete work.
- Weather-Related Duties: Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow and ice removal during the winter months.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tools and vehicles to ensure safety and functionality.
- Support Maintenance Teams: Assist skilled tradespeople with various tasks to keep public facilities running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, general labor, or public works is highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various physical positions (bending, kneeling, crawling).
- License: Valid California Class C Driver's License is required.
- Attitude: Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to follow detailed instructions from supervisors.
