Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete repair
- Operate light equipment (saws, jackhammers, dump trucks) under supervision
- Install/maintain traffic control signs and barricades for public safety
- Assist in storm drain cleaning, vegetation management, and landscape maintenance
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Complete daily work logs and report equipment maintenance needs
- Support emergency response during weather events or infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform strenuous physical activity
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Preferred: 1+ years of public works or construction experience
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and work collaboratively
