Responsibilities
- Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and bridges.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and construction equipment, including backhoes, rollers, and dump trucks.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, hauling materials, grading soil, and operating rollers.
- Flag traffic and direct vehicles safely during road construction and utility projects.
- Clear snow and ice from public walkways and roadways during adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all OSHA safety regulations.
- Inspect completed work for quality and ensure it meets city specifications.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to participate in our paid training program and obtain necessary certifications.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Basic understanding of construction safety protocols is a plus.
