Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and construction of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment, such as excavators, rollers, and dump trucks, following all safety protocols.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and supplies at job sites.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, trenching, paving, and concrete work.
- Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe by adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and fellow team members.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class C) required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and rain.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and procedures.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills.
