Responsibilities
- Site Maintenance: Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and general cleanup of public works sites.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as dump trucks, rollers, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Infrastructure Support: Assist in the repair, maintenance, and installation of city streets, sidewalks, and storm drains.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, tools, and debris safely and efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with supervisors and fellow crew members to complete projects on time.
- Weather Adaptability: Perform duties in various weather conditions, including snow removal and extreme heat.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- License: Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal work is a plus but not mandatory.
- Attitude: Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions quickly.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time hours, including potential overtime and shift work.
