Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including snowplows, dump trucks, and graders.
- Assist in road construction, asphalt paving, and concrete work projects.
- Clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and emergency routes during winter storms.
- Collect and transport construction debris and refuse to disposal sites.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Perform physical labor in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class A or B preferred, but valid Class C with good driving record is acceptable).
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by weather and city needs.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and operate machinery for extended periods.
