Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, such as rollers, pavers, and sweepers.
- Assist in traffic control, flagging, and directing vehicles during construction projects.
- Load, unload, and distribute materials, tools, and supplies at job sites.
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and departmental policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Clear debris, vegetation, and snow (when applicable) from streets and right-of-ways.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and the general public.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Hawaii Driverβs License is mandatory.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, and safety practices.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow verbal and written instructions.
