Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment such as excavators, rollers, and paving machines.
- Perform site preparation, including clearing debris, excavation, and grading.
- Assist with paving, surfacing, and concrete placement projects.
- Direct traffic and set up proper signage and flagging operations.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Transport materials and tools to and from work sites using heavy-duty vehicles.
- Inspect work sites for potential hazards and report them immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) repeatedly.
- Basic math skills for reading measurements and blueprints.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow detailed instructions.
