Key Responsibilities:
As a Public Works Laborer, you will be the backbone of our infrastructure maintenance efforts. Your duties will include:
- Performing manual labor tasks such as excavation, grading, and general cleanup on various public projects.
- Operating and maintaining light to heavy construction equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, rollers, and mowers.
- Assisting with traffic control, flagging operations, and barricading to ensure site safety.
- Maintaining and repairing public infrastructure, including sidewalks, curbs, storm drains, and utility trenches.
- Conducting landscape maintenance and beautification projects across the city.
- Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment as directed by supervisors.
- Adhering strictly to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and municipal policies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License (Class E or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction, landscaping, or maintenance practices is preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
